Built in the 1940s at the famous watering hole along the Lourenco Marques / Durban Route this restored, friendly lodge adjoins the Zulu Nyala Private Game Reserve.
Restored to its former colonial grandeur, the lodge is enhanced with a delightfully decadent ambiance. The accommodation facilities are themed to highlight Zululand's unique cultural development.
All the Reserve’s activities such as game drives and walks are available to Heritage guests. The reserve is home to abundant plains-game: the shy and beautiful Nyala, giraffe, zebra, blue wildebeest, impala and many more), as well as elephant, white rhino, buffalo, leopard, cheetah, hippo and a wealth of bird life.
Cancellation policy :
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 90 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 60 days before date of arrival, 30 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled up to 45 days before date of arrival, 50 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children or adults are charged 100 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.
There is no capacity for cots in the room.
Deposit Policy: 50 percent of the total amount will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
1.00 % city/tourist tax per person per night is not included.
Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.
Meal Plan: Breakfast is included in the room rate.
Dinner is included in the room rate.

Travel information :
By Car
- Leave Johannesburg on the N17 towards Springs/ Leandra/ Bethal (approximately 170 km).
- From Bethal, take the N17 for approximately 55 km to Ermelo.
- From Ermelo take the N2 past Piet Retief (100 km) to Pongola (approximately 100 km) and Mkuzi (approximately 65 km).
- Approximately 40 km from Mkuzi, take the Southern Maputaland/Sodwana Bay off-ramp.
- Turn left and at the T-junction follow the Zulu Nyala sign.
- Turn right onto a gravel road (do not go left to Sodwana).
- Travel slowly as the gravel is loose and slippery.
- Approximately 6 km down the gravel road you will see the Heritage Hotel.
